Dr Manolis Nikolopoulos is a Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon with specialist expertise in Gynaecological Oncology and Robotic Surgery. He has trained and worked for several years in the United Kingdom in leading university and tertiary referral hospitals and holds subspecialty accreditation in Gynaecological Oncology recognised by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO).
Education & Professional Experience
Dr Nikolopoulos graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras, Greece (2013) and obtained his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2021. He has extensive clinical experience in NHS hospitals in the United Kingdom, including Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals (London) and Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals.
He successfully completed his subspecialist training in Gynaecological Oncology at Poole Hospital (University Hospitals Dorset, UK), where he also received advanced training in robotic gynaecological surgery. In addition, he worked at the internationally renowned Basingstoke Peritoneal Malignancy Institute, a leading centre for the surgical management of pseudomyxoma peritonei and peritoneal carcinomatosis, where he was trained in cytoreductive surgery with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) for advanced, recurrent and metastatic abdominal malignancies.
He holds surgery certification from the Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery (SERGS) and accreditation from the British and Irish Association of Robotic Gynaecological Surgeons (BIARGS).
He has been an accredited colposcopist since 2021, having successfully completed the training programme of the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP).
From January 2026, he holds the position of Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology at Poole Hospital, confirming the completion of a full and formally recognised subspecialty training pathway. At the same time, he maintains a private practice in Athens and collaborates with IASO General Hospital.
In addition to his oncological practice, he has extensive experience in general and benign gynaecology, minimally invasive surgery and colposcopy, having worked in specialised hospitals in the United Kingdom.
Previously, he also worked as a physician with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) during the peak of the refugee crisis in Greece.
